About This Campaign

Franklinton, North Carolina is a mill town anchored by a railroad. A hotspot for Wall Dogs, product advertisements that were hand painted on the side of local businesses for either a cash payment or trade. At the height, there were nearly a dozen located throughout this small town.

At the cost of progress, many of these signs are now gone. But, did you know the process of restoring a sign includes painting over it? They can still be restored to its former glory.

The Franklinton GhostSign Project worked closely with Coca-Cola Consolidated to restore the City Service Station Sign when it was being renovated as Johnny’s On Main.

Now we’re working to save the rest

Your purchase of this shirt designed locally by @byerikawithak & made right here in NC supports the restoration & preservation of these nostalgic signs.
